Dawn Manning Named Director of Athletics

Dawn Manning named new Director of Athletics for Pitt Community College.

Following the retirement of former Director of Athletics Mark Faithful, Dawn Manning will now take over as PCC's newest Director of Athletics.

Manning has been a member of the PCC athletic staff since the summer of 2010. She was named Assistant Director of Athletics in 2016 where she served in that role for two years before being named Director of Athletics on June 1st, 2018. Dawn has a passion to serve the student-athletes at Pitt Community College and maintains a focus on the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, “To Educate and Empower Athletes for Success”.

Dawn is a native of Williamston, NC where she graduated from Williamston High School in 1992. She attended Barton College where she was a two sport athlete on the Women’s Tennis and Softball Teams. Dawn was an All-Conference and All District Singles and Doubles Player for the Lady Bulldogs Tennis program in 1992 and 1993. She earned All-Conference honors as the Lady Bulldogs centerfielder in the spring of 1996. She earned a BS in Sport Management in 1996 from Barton College.

Upon graduation, Dawn worked at Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston, NC for thirteen years. She taught elementary physical education and coached tennis, basketball and softball. Her softball team played for 5 state titles, winning their 1st in 2006 for the NCISAA 2A Championships.

Dawn and her husband Tim reside in Greenville, NC. They have two children, Hutch (16) and McKinley (14).
