BASEBALL SPLITS WITH GTCC

The Bulldogs defeated Guilford Tech 4-2 in game one before falling 5-2 in game two on Saturday.

Pitt starter Will Liverpool used a fantastic performance on the mound to earn his 4th win of the season.  Liverpool went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits while striking out 6.  Noah Jones came on in relief to earn his 8th save of the season.  Clinging to a 1-0 lead in the 5th, Austin Lafollette belted his 6th home run of the season to push PCC to a 3-0 lead.  Joey Goldsmith gave the offense a boost going 2 for 3 on the day.

The Bulldogs struggled to get the offense going in game two, mustering only 2 hits in the 7 inning game.  The Titans pushed across 4 runs off of starter Kyle Mott to give GTCC all it would need and eventually take a 5-2 victory.

Pitt will host the 2019 Region 10 DII Tournament beginning on Friday, May 10th.  Bracket and game times will be posted as they are made available.
