SOFTBALL DOMINANT IN SWEEP OF FAYETTEVILLE TECH

The Bulldogs cruised in a sweep of Fayetteville Tech this weekend, winning game one 26-2 and game two 9-1.

 

GAME 1

Pitt set the tone early in game 1 and never let up, using a 12 run 3rd inning to win 26-2.  PCC pounded out 22 hits in the contest.  Alexis Phillips went 4-5 with a HR and 5 RBI's while Kaitlyn Kostrezebski went 4-4 with two doubles.  Kasey West, Marissa Roach, and Lexi Phillips also recorded multi-hit games.  Rebekah Williiams earned the win in the circle, tossing all 5 innings and allowing only 2 runs.

The Bulldogs picked up where they left off in game two, pushing across 9 more runs on 12 hits.  Marissa Roach led the way at the plate going 3-3.  Summer Campbell and Abbi Carpenter also turned in multi-hit games.  Amaya Cerutti pitched a complete game for the win and allowed only one run.

 

Pitt travels to Patrick Henry this Tuesday for a double-header beginning at 1:00 PM.
