BASEBALL TAKES 1 OF 3 AT SOUTHEASTERN

Pitt was defeated twice on Saturday by scores of 8-7 and 13-8 before winning Sunday's contest 16-1.

GAME 1

Freshman lefty Matt Little got his first start of the season in game 1, scattering 4 runs over 5 innings.  Trailing 4-3 in the 6th, the Bulldogs were able to tie the game at 4 before SCC answered with 2 in the 6th and 2 in the 8th to claim the victory.  Pitt rallied from down 8-6 in the 9th to make the score 8-7 with the bases loaded, but were unable to capitalize.  Joey Goldsmith led PCC at the plate going 3-4.

GAME 2

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st in game 2, however they weren't able to overcome an 11 run 3rd inning by Southeastern in the loss.  Kyle Mott started for PCC, giving way in the 3rd to Will Liverpool.  Tyshawn Barrett led the offense going 2 for 3 with a double and a home run while driving in 6 runs.

GAME 3

The PCC Offense exploded for 16 runs on 15 hits in game 3.  Barrett delivered once again, going 2-4 with a grand slam.  Garrett Tyndall, Josh Netterville, Chandler Blackwelder, Caleb Morris and Trevor Losito all also recorded multiple hits for the Bulldogs.  Nolan Bolt earned the win on the mound, working 5 innings and allowing 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 6.

 

Pitt (16-8, 9-6) hosts Barton College on Wednesday at home beginning at 4:00 PM before traveling to Fayetteville Tech this weekend.
