The Bulldogs traveled to Holly Springs this weekend to matchup against the Eagles of Wake Tech. Pitt was victorious in all 3 games, winning by scores 0f 12-6, 4-0, and 12-10.
GAME 1 PITT 12 WTCC 6
Dylan Patrick earned the win on the mound for the Dawgs, turning in a solid performance scattering 4 runs over 7 innings of work. PCC put the game out of reach in the 3rd inning, pushing across 8 runs led by Patrick Wheeler who recorded 3 hits in the contest. Austin LaFollette homered to right and 5 Bulldogs recorded doubles in the game.
GAME 2 PITT 4 WTCC 0
Sophomore Jake Isbell turned in his best outing of the year in game 2, throwing a complete game 1 hitter, striking out 8 and allowing 0 walks. The only hit off of Isbell came in the 3rd inning on an infield single. Joe Mason belted a 3 run HR in the 5th to give Pitt the lead, followed up by a solo shot by Mikey Polansky to make it 4-0.
GAME 3 PITT 12 WTCC 10
In a marathon game 3 that lasted over 4 hours, starter Andrew Blake left the game in the 5th inning in a 3-3 tie. Pitt used 7 walks in the 6th inning to go ahead 10-3, however Wake Tech battled back to make it 10-8. The Dawgs rallied to make the game 12-8 before a Wake Tech HR pushed the score to 12-10 in the 9th before freshman John Owen was able to record the save and earn the Bulldogs the 12-10 victory.
Pitt will Play Louisburg at home at 6:00 on Wednesday before hosting Patrick Henry Saturday and Sunday.
