Baseball Goes 1-3 at Florence-Darington

It was a difficult weekend for the Bulldogs as they were only able to win one game in a four game series at Florence-Darlington.

 

Andrew Blake took the mound in game 1 for the Bulldogs turning in a solid before giving way to Mason Medlin in the 6th inning.  Pitt was able to take a 2-0 lead in the 4th before FD Tech rallied to take the lead back in the 5th.  The Stingers tacked on 4 more runs late to win 7-3.

In game 2, starter Dylan Patrick was chased from the contest in the first inning.  Reliever Jake Isbell then came on with a great performance out of the bullpen. throwing 5 innings and only allowing 2 runs.  Brandon Winstead came in the sixth and recorded the win after recording the last five outs.  Patrick Wheeler and Austin LaFollette led the charge offensively with 3 hits a piece.

Game 3 was an offensive contest that saw the Bulldogs squander an 8-1 third inning lead.  John Owen took the loss on the mound despite the Bulldog offense putting up 11 runs on 17 hits.  Patrick Wheeler, Mikey Polansky, Drew Piscorik, and Trevor Losito all posted 3 hits a piece including a 3 run HR from Losito.

The game 4 starter for Florence-Darlington was able to take a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the final game of the series.  The Bulldog offense was unable to match the Florence-Darlington's 6 runs despite a solid start from Sophomore lefty Trent Seibert.

 

The Bulldogs are back in action this Wednesday at Louisburg at 4:00.
