BASEBALL TAKES SERIES WITH WAKE TECH

The Bulldogs took on Wake Tech this weekend in a pivotal Region X series at Minges-Overton Complex.  Pitt won both of Saturday's contests 2-0 and 4-1 before losing Sunday 7-4.

 

GAME 1

PITT - 2

WAKE TECH - 0

Dylan Patrick had yet another stellar start for the Bulldogs, working 8 innings and allowing no runs on 5 hits and striking out 7.  Patrick currently leads NJCAA DII in ERA (0.35).  Noah Jones came on to pitch the 9th, earning his 7th save of the year.  Tyshawn Barrett led the offense going 2-4 on the day and Joey Goldsmith pushed across Pitt's lone RBI.

GAME 2

PITT - 4

WAKE TECH - 1

Will Liverpool turned in a fantastic start on the mound for the 'Dawgs, working all 7 innings in a complete game victory.  Liverpool scattered 6 hits and allowed only 1 run while striking out 10.  Tyshawn Barrett once again led PCC at the plate going 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

GAME 3

WAKE TECH - 7

PITT - 4

Wake Tech was able to jump out to a 2-0 lead in game three off of PCC starter Nolan Bolt.  The Eagles extended the lead to 4-0 in the 6th before Pitt answered back thanks in part to a Stephen Polansky HR to cut the deficit to 4-3.  Wake Tech then belted a 3 run HR to give them a 7-3 lead and then eventual victory. 

 

Pitt travels to Guilford Tech this weekend for their final series of the season.
