BULLDOGS WIN OVERTIME THRILLER AT CVCC

The Bulldog offense exploded this weekend for 109 points against a very good CVCC team on the road.  PCC came into the matchup 8-4 overall and 6-0 in conference while the Redhawks came in with a 10-3 overall record and were 2-2 in Region X Play.

On a night full of offense, PCC had a season high 7 players that reached double-digit points.  Tim Downing, Devonte' Pettaway, and Ben Cox led the scoring with 15 points a piece.  Cox also recorded a double-double with 13 rebounds. 

The final buzzer sounded with the contest tied 96-96.  The overtime period came down to the wire before Sophomore guard Tim Downing put the Bulldogs up 109-108 with 0.3 seconds remaining.  The Redhawks were able to sink a shot, however the basket was waived off and deemed to have come after the buzzer had sounded.

With the victory, Pitt improves to 9-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference.

The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend taking on Guilford Tech (11-2, 5-1) on Saturday at 3:00 and Bryant & Stratton (2-13, 2-6) on Sunday at 3:00.  Both games are at home in the Coburn Center.
