JOHNSON COUNTY TOPS PITT IN NJCAA OPENING ROUND

PCC opened up play in their first ever NJCAA National Tournament Tuesday night, taking on the #2 seed Johnson County Cavaliers out of Kansas.

The Bulldogs were able to take a 13-12 lead four minutes into the game, however the Cavalier offense exploded late in the second half to take a 50-23 halftime lead.  Pitt battled in the 2nd half to close the gap but the Johnson County offense was too strong and the Cavaliers went on the win 96-69.

JCCC guard General Williams led all scorers with 30 points.  Damar Sutton was at the forefront of the PCC offensive attack, leading the Bulldogs with 12 points.

Although PCC can't win the tournament, they will now compete in a single elimination consolation bracket.  The winner of this bracket will take home 7th place.

Pitt (#15, 23-9) will take on Dakota County (MN)(#7, 26-6) Thursday at 12:00 PM ET.  If the Bulldogs win, they will play Friday at 12:00 PM ET.
