BASEBALL WINS SERIES AT LENOIR

The Bulldogs (11-6-1) went on the road this weekend to take on the Lancers of Lenoir CC.

Pitt was able to win the first two games 10-4 and 8-1 before falling on Sunday 5-1.

GAME 1

PITT 10 LENOIR 4

Pitt struggled to get the offense going early on, failing to score until the 7th inning when the Bulldogs were able to tack on 3.  This tied the game as Starter Dylan Patrick worked 7 innings allowing just 3 runs.  PCC rallied to score 4 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to seal a 10-4 victory.

GAME 2

PITT 8 LENOIR 1

LCC was able to push across a run in the 1st to take an early 1-0 lead off of Pitt starter Kyle Mott.  The Bulldogs answered in the 3rd with a solo home run from Chandler Blackwelder and a 2 run shot from Caleb Morris to take a 3-1 lead.  PCC rallied for 5 runs in the 7th to capture an 8-1 victory.

GAME 3

LENOIR 5 PITT 1

The Bulldog offense was stifled on Sunday, only tallying one run on the afternoon via a Garrett Tyndall sacrifice fly in the 7th.  Pitt starter John Owen worked 6 innings surrending 3 runs before he gave way to reliever Branden Kunz in the 7th.  Kunz allowed 2 runs and the Bulldogs weren't able to answer, falling 5-1.

 

Pitt (11-6-1, 5-4) travels to Louisburg Wednesday for a non-conference matchup.  First Pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
