Game 1: PITT 8 WAKE TECH 4

Bethany Locklear was the winning pitcher for Pitt Community College. She lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out four and walking zero. Allie Phillips threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Phillips recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Pitt Community College.

Offensively the Bulldogs struggled; Breanna Hardee broke the tie in the bottom of the 2nd inning by hitting an RBI single to center field scoring Meghan Pullicino who reached on error.

A big 4th inning gave PCC some breathing room. After back-to-back singles by Pullicino and Hardee, Janna Dawson walked while Pullicino scored on a passed ball by the catcher.  Meghan Moore was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Morgan Shirley who singled up the middle on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Hardee went 2-for-3 at the plate with 1 stolen base to lead the team offensively.

Game 2:  PITT 5 WAKE TECH 3

Allie Phillips got the start in the circle for game 2 going 3 strong innings to earn the win while Haley Rivenbark came in to throw the last 4 innings to earn her first save on the season. Both pitchers gave up 3 hits each, while Rivenbark struck out 2 and gave up no runs.

A clutch pinch hit for Bethany Locklear to take the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning was the play of the day.  Locklear took the first pitch she saw to the fence in left-center scoring 2 runs and earning her first double of the season.

PCC was led by leadoff Morgan Shirley at the plate who went 3-4 in the 2nd game and collected 3 stolen bases.
