Game 2 Bulldogs 8 – Bobcats 0 (6 innings)

Freshman Janna Dawson started in the circle game 2 and held Bryant & Stratton scoreless also only allowing 3 hits.

Patience at the plate paid off again in game 2.  The Bulldogs got things started in the bottom of the 2nd inning by a lead-off walk by Roslyn Bunch.  Breanna Hardee then singled on a bunt and advanced on a throwing error putting runners in scoring position.  Freshman Jessica D’Elia would hit a hard ground ball reaching on error but scoring 2 runs on the play.  Shirley then tripled to left-centerfield scoring D’Elia from 2nd base.

The game ended in a walk-off double-steal by Meghan Pullicino who stole from 1st base to 2nd base and Kelsey Peedin stole from 3rd to score and end the game in another run-rule fashion.

Peedin and Hardee led the team offensively with 2 hits each; Hardee with a hard line drive double to left field.

“I was very pleased with how our pitching performed – they executed very well in the circle and allowed our defense to do their job.  Kelsey Peedin is doing a great job balancing out all of our pitchers and putting them in successful positions from the circle. Despite the number of low hits each game, our quality at-bat percentage was very high.  We saw a lot of pitches and ran the bases very aggressively.” - HC Jennie Harp

The Bulldogs will play a double-header against Spartanburg Methodist University on Friday, March 16th at home starting at 1pm.
