This year marks the 32nd anniversary of annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day, a national observance celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports.
The Pitt Softball team spent Sunday morning with the 8U Riptides out of Carteret County teaching the game of softball in honor of NGWSD.
"It's important that we do things like this for our community; all of those 8 year olds want to be college softball players. It's not the skills that they learned from the camp that's most important thing they're going to walk away with, but having the opportunity and making a connection with someone from our team."
The PCC Softball team would like to thank the 8U Riptide players, coaches and parents.
