2017 Bulldog Softball Season Preview
Feb 14, 2017

The 2017 outlook for Pitt Softball is bright as they look to make a big splash dropping down to DII of the Region X Conference. Division II for the most part is competitive from top to bottom; that's evidenced by the fact that there has been a different tournament winner each of the last 4 years. Moving down to DII is a big advantage because the winner of the Region X tournament has an automatic bid to the NJCAA World Series in Clinton, MS.

The team returns 10 sophomores from last year's squad; many of who saw a great deal of playing time last season. Bringing back that many experienced players is a huge advantage especially when it comes to tournament time. Alongside 10 sophomores we have 7 freshmen who will look to see some playing time immediately in a variety of roles.

"Something I am looking forward to as a head coach is to have players return healthy. We saw a lot of injuries stemming from last season carry over into fall and to be able to see Erin McDonald, Brianna Williams, and Haley Wright back at 100% is exciting. The biggest factor to our success will likely be if this team commits to trusting each other on the field and pushing one another for the greater good of the team." - Head Coach Jennie Harp

The Bulldogs host Louisburg at home this Wednesday, February 15th at 3pm and 5pm.
