Softball Splits at NC Wesleyan

PCC Splits with North Carolina Wesleyan

Game 1 – Win 5-0

Stephanie Villalovos didn't allow a single run as Pitt Community College defeated North Carolina Wesleyan 5-0 on Thursday. She threw a complete game, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one.

Offensively, Pitt got on the board in the first inning, when Taylor Carroll tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. PCC tallied eight hits in the game. Carroll and Meghan Pullicino each had multiple hits for the Bulldogs. On the bases Stephanie and Morgan Shirley both stole two bases to lead the team.

Game 2 – Loss 1-2 (5 innings)

Game 2 was cut short in the bottom of the 5th inning due to running out of daylight. The Bulldogs couldn’t get a rally together despite out hitting the Bishops and not committing a single error in the field.

Allie Phillips led things off in the circle for Pitt. She went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking zero. Bethany Locklear and Haley Rivenbark entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Phillips, Breanna Hardee, Meghan Pullicino, Janna Dawson, and Morgan Shirley each collected one hit to lead the Bulldogs. Hardee had the most chances in the field with four.

The Bulldogs defense shined as they didn’t commit a single error on the day.

The Bulldogs look to travel to Wake Tech Saturday for a double-header at 12pm and host Patrick Henry CC Sunday starting at 2pm.
