SOFTBALL COMPLETES SWEEP OF FLORENCE-DARLINGTON

After winning game 1 yesterday 4-3, Pitt was able to sweep the series today with 1-0 and 12-1 victories over Florence-Darlington.

Emily McGee turned in another outstanding performance in the circle, tossing a complete game 3 hit shutout.  She also recorded 7 strikeouts and did not allow a walk. 

With the game tied 0-0 in the bottom of the 7th, Roslyn Bunch again delivered in the clutch.  For the second game in a row, Bunch knocked in a game winning walkoff base hit to give PCC the 1-0 win.

The Bulldog offense was in full force in the third and final game of the series.  Pitt drove in 12 runs on 12 hits with Julia Gonzalez leading the way tallying 5 RBI's.  Meghan Pullicino added 2 hits and 4 RBI's and Breanna Hardee also recorded 2 hits.

Janna Dawson earned the complete game victory in the circle, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits.

Pitt (8-1) travels to Virginia this Friday and Saturday to take on the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton.
