Hannah Sladick named October Athlete of the Month

Hannah Sladick has been named Pitt Community College's 1st Annual athlete of the month for October. We sat down with Hannah to ask her a few questions.

You've been having an incredible season.  What do attribute your success to this year?

  • I attribute my success to God and my team. I wouldn't be where I am today without God and I wouldn't be able to do the things I do without my team. There are so many talented girls on our team who help me better myself everyday and aways encourage me to give my all

What are the major differences you've seen in volleyball from the high school level to the college level?

  • I think one of the major differences between college and high school volleyball is the speed of the game. College volleyball is very more fast paced with a lot more plays.

Who are your biggest role models? Why?

  • Two of my biggest role models in my life are my mom and coach Katelynn Speas. They are always lifting me up and pushing me to achieve excellence not only in volleyball but in everything in life.

What are you hoping to do professionally once your volleyball career is over?

  • Once I finish college I plan on becoming an elementary teacher while coaching volleyball.

Favorite singer/band/song that gets you pumped up before a game?

  • I don't have any specific type of music that I listen to before a game just anything that gets me hype.

Thoughts on the remainder of the season?  What will it take for your team to continue your recent success?

  • The rest of the season is going to be hard but our team definitely has the talent and potential to go far this year. We all have to continue to work together and give it our all with these last few games.
