Four Bulldogs Named to NFCA All-Region East Team

Four Pitt Community College softball players have been named to the Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA Division II All-Region East Team. Shortstop Taylor Carroll (Princeton) and leftfielder Meghan Pullicino (Jacksonville) were named to the first-team and centerfielder Morgan Shirley (Greenville) and catcher Kelsey Peedin (Smithfield) were named to the second-team.
 
Each of these players helped the Bulldogs claim the NJCAA Division II Region X championship and post a 33-13 record this season.
 
The only true sophomore in the group, Taylor Carroll, ended the season with a team high batting average .456 with 21 doubles, 4 triples and 6 homeruns.  Meghan Pullicino ended the season hitting .336 with 10 stolen bases.  Morgan Shirley boasted a team-high 69 hits on the season and led the team with 5 triples finishing her season batting .434 and also led Region X in stolen bases with 19 on the year.  Kelsey Peedin was recognized as well despite suffering a season-ending injury the final week of regular season play.  Kelsey hit .378 with an on base percentage of .516.
 
All four of these players were also named to the NJCAA All-Region X team. Next week the NFCA will announce the DII All-Americans.
