Pitt 8 – RBC 4
Stephanie Villalovos got the job done in the circle allowing 7 hits and striking out 9 and only allowing 2 walks.
The bats were hot in the bottom of the 2nd inning. With 2 outs and bases loaded, Kelsey Peedin drove a ball to deep left field for a base clearing double to put Pitt in the lead 3-1.
The offense continued into the 3rd inning after a leadoff bunt single by Meghan Pullicino and a 1st pitch homerun to center field by Roslyn Bunch.
Pitt recorded 12 hits in the game. Meghan Moore, Breanna Hardee, and Meghan Pullicino all gathering 2 hits a piece while Kelsey Peedin led the team with 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

Pitt 2 – RBC 5
The Statesman took control in game 2 in the top of the 4th inning after a solo homerun and another run which was unearned to Allie Phillips. Locklear would replace Phillips in the top of the 4th in the circle. “Phillips pitched well only allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. Bland just really caught on to her speed and we needed to switch speeds up.” Bethany Locklear came in a struck out 6 batters, and only had 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 4 innings of work.
Stephanie Villalovos was the only batter to have more than 1 hit – going 2-3. Kelsey Peedin, Morgan Shirley and Taylor Carroll all had 1 hit in the game.
“Game 2 we had the chances we just weren’t able to produce it into runs. We looked very young in the second game and got away from the process of what we’ve been focusing on all year. I think we learned from game 2 and look forward to getting back on the field and getting to work.”
“Overall on the bases we continued to stay aggressive. In game 1 we had 5 stolen bases and game 2 we had 3.” Pitt returns home this Thursday at 1pm for a double-header against non-conference College of Southern Maryland.
