PCC continued on what has been an outstanding season by defeating Richard Bland 4-3 in Saturday's Region X Championship game. The Bulldogs defeated Patrick Henry 14-6 in game one before outlasting Pasco Hernando (FL) 8-7. They then matched up against #1 seed Florence-Darlington in a game that saw a ferocious Bulldog offense step up in a 13-5 win. Richard Bland defeated PCC 7-4 before Pitt rallied to win the winner take all championship game 4-3.
Pitt will now travel to Clinton, MS to compete in the NJCAA DII Softball Championships which will be held May 16th - 19th.
"The championship game was a great team win. We overcame a great deal of adversity and several key injuries. We made lots of young mistakes but our determination got the job done. It was a complete effort from everyone in the lineup each game, every player came through with big hits. I'm very proud and excited to continue the journey on the national level and represent Pitt Community College." - HC Jennie Harp.
