Game 1

Florence-Darlington 6  Pitt 1

Pitt wasn’t able to get a complete game in on Saturday due to the rain.  In the bottom of the 6th inning it was a 2-1 game with the downpour really started.  It caused problems immediately as the Stingers pushed 4 more runs across the plate.  In the top of the 7th inning with 0 outs and Bulldog runners on 1st and 3rd base the game was called.

Stephanie Villalovos took the loss. She surrendered six runs on 12 hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.

Meghan Pullicino led Pitt Community College with two hits in three at bats.  The only other Pitt player with a hit was Julia Gonzalez. Pullicino also had 3 stolen bases on the day with Gonzalez having 1 herself.

“We got away from the game-plan at the plate in all 3 games.  We weren’t aggressive on good pitches and it hurt us.  We did show some real heart and will to win in some plays towards the end.  Meghan P never quit and it showed by her reaching base and staying aggressive on the bases.”

This puts Pitt in 3rd place for Region X currently.  The 2nd game against Florence Darlington will be made up TBA.
