Keyren Corey
Title: Strength & Conditioning

Coach Keyren Corey enters his second season as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Pitt Community College Men's Basketball team. 

 

Coach Corey was born and raised in Hamden, Connecticut and played football at Hamden High School.  He attended East Carolina University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology.  While at East Carolina University, he played defensive back for the Pirates from 1998 - 2001.  He had the privilege to be trained by strength and conditioning coaches Jeff Connors (1998 - 2000) and Jim Whitten (2000 - 2001). He was the recipient of the Rick Bankston Memorial Award in 2000 for his achievements as being an outstanding junior varsity defensive football player.

 

Coach Corey is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified in CPR/AED through the American Heart Association. His coaching style can be described as energetic, educational and motivational, along with providing technical expertise and having attention to detail.

 

Coach Corey has had the opportunity to work with a variety of athletes from different sports, including football, basketball, soccer, cross country, track & field, swimming, softball, wrestling, lacrosse and hockey.  Coach Corey has worked with athletes ranging from the age of five years old to professional athletes and older adults.  His passion for athletics and physical fitness has allowed him to impact the lives of many young athletes through his program K.U.W.P. Athletic Conditioning.  

 

Coach Corey is happily married to Latoya B. Corey and they have been blessed with three awesome sons - Keyren II, Jacksen and Zyen.
