Bulldogs Go Down Swinging in 3-1 Loss to Surry

WINTERVILLE - Pitt Community College won the first set of its 2013 home opener Sept. 13 but couldn't pull out a victory over Community College.

Led by freshman outside hitter Laurie Williamson's nine kills and nine digs for the match, the Bulldogs captured the first set, 26-24, before losing the next three, 25-19, 25-23 and 26-24, to drop their first Region X Conference matchup of the season.

Other key contributors for PCC were Jordan Woolard and Heather Lucas, who combined for 19 kills, 10 digs and seven blocked shots. Peyton Sudheimer tallied 30 assists for the Bulldogs.

With the loss, PCC fell to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in Region X play.
