Bulldogs Split Home Doubleheader Against Eagles and Lancers

WINTERVILLE—After falling to Wake Tech in the first game of a home doubleheader Wednesday night, Pitt Community College volleyball recovered to top visiting Lenoir Community College in game two of the evening.

The Bulldogs were competitive throughout yesterday's first match despite falling to the Eagles, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21 and 25-20).

Middle hitters Jordan Woolard (.316 hitting percentage) and Nikki Hodges (.800) played well for Pitt in the defeat along with sophomore libero Anais Waldrop, who finished with 15 digs.

Behind Peyton Sudheimer's 34 assists, two aces and nine digs in game two, PCC rolled past the Lancers, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20 and 25-16), to improve to 4-5 overall this season, 2-3 in the Region X Conference.

"I was really proud of the way the team turned it around in such a short timeframe," Bulldogs Coach Caitlin Wooten said of her team's victory over LCC. "We had the best hitting performance of the season so far – .260 as a team."

PCC will face Catawba Valley Community College at home Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Charles Coburn Center.
