'Dawgs Drop Match with Catawba Valley in Three

Pitt Community College never could find its rhythm in falling to Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory in straight sets.

Jordan Young was one of the few bright spots for the Bulldogs, who dropped the first set by a 25-8 count before losing the next two, 25-13 and 25-17. A freshman, Young led the Pitt defensive effort with a team-high 13 digs.

Heather Lucas finished with three kills and three aces for PCC, while Laurie Williamson led the Bulldogs with four kills.

CVCC's Leah Wells recorded a game-high 13 kills, and Hannah Lewis tallied 26 digs. Madison Pogue led all players in assists for the Buccaneers with 35.
