BASEBALL GOES 1-2 AT STINGER INVITATIONAL

The Bulldogs traveled to Florence, SC this weekend to compete in the Stinger Invitational hosted by Florence-Darlington Tech.

GAME 1

PITT 5 EAST GEORGIA STATE 1

Pitt used solid pitching performances from 3 arms to earn the victory over EGSU in Game 1.  Noah Jones worked the first 3 innings and allowed no runs.  Logan Jarosz then came on to pitch the 4th and 5th and finished giving up EGSU's only run.  Josh Harlow came on for the 6th and 7th to earn the win.

Tom Caufield led PCC at the plate collecting 2 RBI's.

GAME 2

WALTERS STATE 8 PITT 1

The Walters State offense was too much for the Bulldogs to overcome in game 2 as the Senators scored 8 runs on 9 hits in the win.

The PCC offense was stifled, collecting only 1 run on 1 hit.

GAME 3

EAST GEORGIA STATE 4 PITT 3

In the final game of the weekend, the Bobcats exacted revenge by defeating PCC 4-3.

Matt Little started on the mound, allowing only 1 earned run.  The Bobcats extended their lead to 3-0 when Little fielded a bunt and made an errant throw while slipping on the turf.  Down 4-0, Pitt inched back into the game plating 2 runs in the 5th and 1 in the 6th but were unable to tie the game, resulting in a 4-3 loss.

The Bulldogs take on Louisburg this Wednesday at home beginning at 3:00 PM at the Minges-Overton Complex.
