BULLDOGS GIVING BACK: AMYA EVANS

BULLDOGS GIVING BACK: AMYA EVANS

This week's "Bulldogs Giving Back" segment features former PCC Standout volleyball player Amya Evans.  Amya attended South Central High School before joing the PCC team as an outside hitter.  Evans currently is the Head JV Volleyball Coach and Varisty Assistant Volleyball Coach at South Central High School.  Additionally, she coaches softball at CM Eppes Middle School.  We sat down with Amya for an interview.  Check out her answers below!

Q:  How did your time at Pitt CC help to prepare you for exceling at your current position?

A:  More than anything, it taught me to have patience.

Q:  How difficult is it to juggle school, coaching, and your social life?

A:   It’s not that hard to juggle everything, you just have to have good time management. Sometimes that can be difficult, but if you time everything right it will become much easier.

Q:  What advice would you give to current student-athletes about working in the collegiate sports field?

A:  I would tell then to go for it, it’s a good learning experience for them and it’s fun to help younger kids learn the skills they need to get better  for that sport.

We wish Amya and both of her teams the best of luck this season!
