SOFTBALL COMPLETES FOUR GAME SWEEP OF SCC

The Bulldogs improved to 16-3 overall and 11-0 this weekend after defeating Southeastern CC in a four game sweep.

GAME 1

PITT                       5 

SOUTHEASTERN    3

The Bulldogs claimed a 5-3 victory in game 1 thanks to a 3 run 5th inning.  Janna Dawson (6-1) earned the complete game victory on the mound allowing 3 runs on 9 hits while striking out 5.  Trailing 3-2 in the 5th, Julia Gonzalez blasted a 3 run homer to give Pitt the lead and the eventual victory. 

GAME 2

Emily McGee remained perfect on the season, tossing a shutout to improve her record to 4-0.  She allowed only 3 hits and struck out 4 in the victory.  Julia Gonzalez once again led the Bulldogs at the plate, collecting 2 hits including another home run and driving in 5.  McGee also contributed on the offensive side collecting two hits of her own. 

GAME 3

SOUTHEASTERN    1

The Bulldogs used the longball in game 3 to cruise to a decisive 9-1 victory.  Janna Dawson, Hailey Jenkins, and Kelsey Peedin all went deep in the contest to propel PCC to victory.  Emily McGee was dominant on the mound once again, earning her 5th victory and allowing 1 run on 6 hits and striking out 4.

GAME 4

PITT                     10 

SOUTHEASTERN    6

Pitt completed the sweep with a 10-6 victory.  Janna Dawson started in the circle before being relieved by Rebekah Williams in the 2nd inning.  Williams worked 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 4 and earning the win.  Julia Gonzalez continued her impressive weekend blasting another home run and driving in 3.

The Bulldogs will take on Fayetteville Tech at home this Friday and Saturday.
