SOFTBALL SWEEPS BRYANT & STRATTON

The Bulldogs traveled to Virginia Beach this weekend and came away with the 3 game sweep of Bryant & Stratton.

GAME 1  PITT 6 BRYANT & STRATTON 3

The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 in the 1st before the Bobcats made it 2-1 after the 4th.  Both teams scored 2 runs each in the 5th and Pitt added two more in the 7th to win 6-3.  Emily McGee earned the complete game win, tossing 7 innings and allowing 2 earned while striking out 5.  Meghan Pullicino led the offense, going 2-3.

GAME 2 PITT 19 BRYANT & STRATTON 1

Pitt took over game 2 early on and did not let up.  The Bulldog offense combined for 19 runs and 10 hits in the victory.  Emily McGee led the offense going 3-5 and Julia Gonzalez added two hits in the win.  Janna Dawson earned the complete game victory, tossing 5 innings and allowing only 1 run.

GAME 3 PITT 6 BRYANT & STRATTON 3

PCC overcame an early 3 run defecit to wrap up the weekend with a 6-3 extra inning victory to complete the sweep.  Rebekah Williams earned the win on the mound, going all 8 innings and allowing only 3 runs on 5 hits and striking out 4.  Kelsey Peedin, Julia Gonzalez, and Meghan Pullicino led the offense with 2 hits each.

Pitt (11-1) will travel to USC Union tomorrow for a double-header beginning at 2:00 PM.
