#13 Gamar Powers Late Basket Puts the Bulldogs Away, Win Streak Now at 3
The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats (4-3) hosted the Pitt Community College Bulldogs (1-6) in a conference matchup Sunday evening.
The Bobcats came into this matchup shorthanded, missing five players due to illness.
It was all hands on deck and everyone that could play, got the chance to in on this one. The Bulldogs took full advantage of Bobcat mistakes in the first half and lead by as much as 9 but, the Bobcats were able to get some momentum going toward half, trailing by just two at the break.
The second half was much tighter as the Bobcats and Bulldogs would exchange buckets and remain within 2 points the remainder of the game. With just about 20 seconds left tied as 66, the Bobcats #10 Airon Jones would get a clutch steal and send a nice behind the back dime to #13 Gamar Powers who would finish with a layup to put them up 2. The Bulldogs would miss there next shot and freethrows for the Bobcats would put things away, securing the (70-66) Victory and with the win the Bobcats have now won 3 in a row.
The Bobcats were led by #0 Josiah Dow with 17pts, 14reb, collecting his first double-double of the season & #13 Gamar Powers with 14pts, 13reb (6 offensive) securing his second double-double of the season.
Next the Bobcats (5-3), will have another conference battle on their hands as they travel to take on the Central Carolina Community College (3-5) this Friday at 7pm.
