Josey Leads Bulldogs Past Lenoir, 96-92

KINSTON—Pitt Community College watched an early lead evaporate before making the most of several Lenoir Community College miscues in the waning minutes to end up taking a 96-92 victory over the Lancers.

The Bulldogs got off to a good start against LCC and went on top 27-14 by the 10:32 mark of the first half. But the Lancers hit the boards and fought back behind Antwuan Smith to cut the deficit to one at 44-43 by halftime.

Alfonzo Josey paced Pitt in the second half, scoring nine consecutive points to give the Bulldogs a 74-71 advantage with 8:49 remaining.

Down the stretch, PCC converted off three Lenoir turnovers to seal the victory and improve to 3-1 overall heading into Saturday's contest at Mid-Atlantic Christian University.

Josey led the Bulldogs (2-0 Region X Conference) in scoring with 19 points. Romone Adderley added 17 for Pitt, and Josh Cox and Michael Williams finished with 14 each. Kendall Ham tallied 10 points to give PCC five players in double figures scoring.
