Bulldogs Give Great Effort Against Louisburg But Fall to 4-3

WINTERVILLE—Coming off its second loss of the season, Pitt Community College battled No. 1 Louisburg College for 40 minutes before falling by a 79-74 count.

Guard Camden Scott led all scorers with 21 points for the Hurricanes, 15 coming on a 5-for-10 effort from downtown. Jamarcus Hairston and Austin Grimes also tallied double figures scoring for Louisburg with 12 and 11, respectively.

Trailing 39-32 at halftime, PCC played tenacious defense over the final 20 minutes and even outscored the NJCAA's top-ranked Division II basketball program during that span, 42-40.

Tominique Hargrove shot 50 percent from the floor (6-of-12) and 80 percent from the line (4-of-5) to lead the Bulldogs (4-3 overall, 2-1 Region X Conference) with 16 points. Quantez Leach and Jake Ashorn both came off the bench to finish with 10 points apiece.
