Bulldogs Top Salkehatchie to End Three-Game Skid

WINTERVILLE--Pitt Community College built a 30-point lead before having to ultimately hang on for a 100-90 victory over visiting USC-Salkehatchie on Wednesday.

Josh Cox scored 33 points, including a 17-for-18 effort from the free-throw line, and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace PCC, which limited the Indians to just 32 first-half points.

Carlos Rankins II made the Bulldogs work for the full 40 minutes to get the win, however, as he knocked down five second-half 3s in a six-minute span for Salkehatchie.

The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for Pitt, which shot 49 percent from the floor and 87 percent from the foul line to improve to 5-4 on the season.

Tominique Hargrove and Romone Adderley finished with 19 points apiece for PCC, which will host Montgomery College-Rockville (Md.) Friday at 6 p.m. in the Charles Coburn Center.
