Josey Helps PCC Snap Three-Game Losing Streak

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College watched a 15-point lead evaporate early in the second half before rallying to snap a three-game skid with an 83-78 victory over visiting Catawba Valley Community College.

The Bulldogs (7-7 overall, 3-3 Region X) led 49-34 at halftime before watching the Red Hawks storm out of locker room after intermission and tie the game at 50-50.

But PCC, which forced CVCC into 18 turnovers for the game, turned up the defensive pressure from there and made some timely free throws to earn the win.

Alfonzo Josey led all scorers with 20 points for Pitt. Ashton Brown was on fire for the Bulldogs, finishing with 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field (including 3-for-3 from 3-point range) and a 2-for-2 effort from the foul line, and Jake Ashorn tossed in 14 points.
