Williams Proves Too Much for Storm to Handle

CHESAPEAKE (Va.)—Michael Williams came off the bench to lead six Bulldogs in double figures scoring and push Pitt Community College past Tidewater Community College, 92-71.

Williams, a freshman forward from Wilson, went 8-for-13 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the free-throw line to score 20 points for Pitt. He tacked on 11 rebounds for good measure to record a double-double.

Reserve Jake Ashton knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points for Pitt. Leveon Hines and Tominique Hargrove scored 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs, and Romone Adderley and Kendall Ham had 10 each. Ham also grabbed seven rebounds.

PCC Coach Darrick Mullins said his squad opened the game with aggressive defense and managed to control the tempo throughout the contest to beat the Storm for a second time in 10 days.

Pitt is now 12-8 overall, 8-4 in the Region X Conference.
