Richard Bland Stops PCC Win Streak at Nine

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College built an early lead only to watch it crumble away as No. 4 Richard Bland College snapped the Bulldogs' nine-game win streak with an 80-65 victory.

PCC led by as many as 14 in the first half of Saturday's contest before costly turnovers led to a 32-28 halftime deficit.

Led by 17 points from Melvin Gregory and 16 more from Reginald Moses, the Statesmen cruised to a 15-point win in the Coburn Center to split the regular-season series with Pitt.

Michael Williams was solid for PCC despite the loss, scoring 14 points and hauling down 13 rebounds. Romone Adderley scored 13 points for the Bulldogs, and Tominique Hargrove added 10 more to go along with five assists.

Next up for Pitt (18-9 overall, 13-5 Region X Conference) is a road trip to Laurinburg Monday to take on the St. Andrews University JV squad.
