Six Score in Double Digits to Power PCC Past Knights

LAURINBURG—Michael Williams led six Bulldogs in double figures scoring, as Pitt Community College broke a close game open with a strong second half in topping the St. Andrews University JV squad, 93-74.

Williams tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds for PCC, which came out sluggish against the Knights but still managed to take a 38-33 lead into halftime. Romone Adderly tacked on 19 for the Bulldogs to go along with six assists and five steals, and Alfonzo Josey came off the bench to score 14 points.

Kendall Ham (12 points), Tominique Hargrove (11) and Ashton Brown (10) combined for 33 points to help push Pitt to 19-9 overall. The Bulldogs are 13-5 in Region X Conference play.

Next up for PCC is a trip to Wake Technical Community College Thursday night. The last time the two teams played was Jan. 29 in the Charles Coburn Center with the Bulldogs coming out on top, 99-90.

Tip-off for the rematch between the Bulldogs and Eagles is set for 7 p.m.
